College Application Consultation
Teacher will
- Advise students in choosing college/university that is the best fit for them.
- Assist students in writing successful college application essays.
- Guide students during the entire college application process.
To learn about the process, the teacher traveled to universities around the country and met with admissions staff in 2002 and learned all about the process.
After teaching high school for several years, the teacher had written hundreds of college recommendation letters and found it frustrating when great students were rejected from schools that they were qualified to attend. This disappointment motivated her to do some research. She spent about 2 years reading everything she could find about the college admissions process. She then contacted admissions officers and former admissions officers from several major universities.
After completing her research, she discovered that most universities are looking for similar qualities in their students. Finding the right fit is very important for the student, however once the fit is made, the student must be marketed properly. She began her service in 2002 and it has been growing quickly. She has placed students with learning disabilities as well as those with perfect SAT scores. She is very proud of her success rate and hope to continue her dual passions of teaching and helping students to attend the universities of their choice.
